Sharlin Keka

Biography

Sharlín Keka was born in the Dominican Republic. She was introduced to the music scene at a very young age as her mother was a singer as well. During her mother’s concerts she developed a passion for connecting with people through music.
Sharlín Keka came to Switzerland as a 9 year old girl. The given challenge of starting a new chapter in her life and learning a new language and finding her identity in a new culture wasn't always easy. But the music as a steady companion helped her to process things.
She liked the idea of being on stage, so she was in theater groups and attended private singing lessons to this day.
Currently she is graduating from the singer’s year at the Voice Music Academy in Zurich. 
Sharlín Keka is influenced by artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean
