Animated video for the klezmer-infused multicultural wedding extravaganza “Chair In The Air,” by Intended Immigration.
The music is a 21st-century interpretation of the uplifting music traditionally played at Jewish wedding receptions, when bride, groom and family members are placed on chairs and carried around the dance floor by the celebrating guests, and the music combines elements of “Hava Nagila,” “Siman Tov” and Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March.”
It’s brought to entertaining life by illustrator Bob Eckstein, whose work has appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker and many other publications, and by veteran animator Devika Joglekar.
Intended Immigration blends modern electronica with swinging influences from across the world. “Chair In The Air” appears on Intended Immigration’s second album, ‘La Demoiselle du Fonque,’ out now from Wooden Hat Records.
