Biography
And now something for the belly, heart and legs: the Bernese Menic's new band "Black Cat Bone" crashes wildly and raw as a Trio through the stage.
Once again are stories being told more unscrupulous, more direct and more outright, coming from dear life and the street. They are pained. And aimed for all, who are looking to forget.
The long road of Menic origins in Boston, Massachusetts: it leads to Switzerland, to Bern. From there onto the European stages and (all the way) back. Next to the big names from the Mississippi-Delta, modern elements join the influences throughout the years: And that sounds as if Blues legend John Lee Hooker and Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys) argue heatedly at the bar.
Traditional Blues, Folk- and Rootsmusic gets gradually paired with Garage and Grunge - this combination is all but mundane, yet feels amazing with Emre Aydin on the bass and Matthias Schüpbach on drums. Hence "Hypnotic Garage Blues".
Responsible for the making of an EP in the Startrack Studio in Schaffhausen in 2014 is the Punk- and "Aeronauten" legend Olifr "Guz" Maurmann. And that EP happens to sound groovy, brute and loud.
