Biography
The lights dim, a fat bass booms through the speakers, the tension is palpable. A distinctive “Yo” sounds. Complete strangers in the audience grin at each other, and there is this moment, the immediate, real one. This is what Collie Herb lives for.
Having grown up with the sound system culture, the stage is his home and making it burn is his duty. Collie Herb overcomes borders and happily mixes dialect texts with global sounds; Reggae and rap, Afrobeats and dancehall.
Collie Herb gets to experience a lot on his journey. He appears at the “Rototom Sunsplash”, Europe's largest reggae festival in Spain, playing in the opening act for world stars such as Shaggy and Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, the son of Bob Marley. He gains the respect of the local crowd on “SRF Reggae Cypher” and starts music projects in Guatemala and Morocco.
But Collie Herb is also busy in the studio: In addition to countless singles and EPs, he releases three studio albums, with the current "Collieversum" being released in 2020 and entering at number 5 in the official Swiss album charts.
Now his fourth album, “Detox”, has been released: 14 tracks about love, life and death and his personal reflections over the last 3 years.
And so it doesn't matter whether you want to celebrate the weekend with live music or need new material for your playlist: the real, immediate moments want to be lived!
