Biography

The Swiss thrash metal band CONTORSION was established by Marc Torretti and Mättu Eschmann in 2004. After some rehearsals and intensive search for capable musicians, the line up was complete in summer 2006. The work on songs started immediately and first gigs were played in summer 2007. After the succesful baptism of fire, more gigs took place allover Switzerland. More fans were also made as support of international bands like One Man Army & Undead Quartett or Born From Pain.

With all these positive experiences and enough songs written, the release of the first album "Solace Through Lies" was ready in January 2010. The album was recorded by the band in their rehearsal room, mixed and mastered in a professional studio. The reactions and reviews showed, that CONTORSION were on the right track. One more time the stages in Switzerland and Germany were set on fire. Beside headliner shows they could again support known acts like Heathen, Evile or Vicious Rumors.

With all the positive resonances for "Solace Through Lies", the songwriting for the successor was even more intense. After a lot of work and a change on the guitarist position, the new album "Planet Parasite" was presented in March 2014. The recordings were done in the KHE Recording Studio in the line up consisting of Marc Torretti, Mättu Eschmann, Dani Bürkli, Sime Freiburghaus and Jon Schnider. The press as well as the fans received "Planet Parasite" excited. The release was followed by gigs in Switzerland and Germany with Nuclear Assault, Hirax and Moonspell amongst others. Parallel to the shows, the band was always working on new songs, until they entered the studio in December 2016 for the recording of album number three.

The release of the latest album "United Zombie Nations" is set for May 2017. With 12 songs and an outstanding artwork, CONTORSION are showing the world, how fresh thrash metal with critical lyrics has to sound. The time is ready for the next chapter of the "Thrash Metal Domination"!
