Biography
In "Gläuffig" Mathias Landtwing (clarinet), Fränggi Gehrig (accordion), Lukas Gernet (piano) and Pirmin Huber (bass) came together in 2008. All of them have their musical roots in folk music. They graduated at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts Music in different fields of musical studies (folk music, jazz, classical music, composition) and have developed them as virtuos instrumentalists. Aware of their own origins, they want to give traditional music a new interpretative and substantial touch, but still show the cultural asset of folk music as it deserves it. The formation's repertoire ranges from traditional country music in the style of the legendary band "Heirassa" to modern, further developed folk music.
