Biography

Sophie de Quay is a voice and words that touch and heal the soul. She is also a unifier, a traveler, a warrior, an entrepreneur, a hypersensitive, a free spirit, a storyteller, a digital nomad, a millennial.

She is a humanist writer who denounces injustice, who takes us to the four corners of the earth, who speaks of love, of the beauty of the world and of its madness. A world that Sophie has traveled since childhood. Born in Switzerland, she grew up in Singapore and New York, and studied in Geneva, Paris and Shanghai. Passionate about people and their ways of life, she has already explored 42 countries, 13 of which through her music, a means she uses to make a difference and build bridges between cultures and generations.

Sophie believes in synchronicity and meetings. It was the one with Simon Jaccard, internationally renowned multi-instrumentalist and music producer, that changed her life in February 2016. While she had just graduated from the Hotel School and was working in a communication agency, he proposed to her to mix their worlds to create together a musical project that would bear the name of Sophie de Quay, his muse and ambassador. To date, together, they have over 250 concerts to their credit.

With Sophie, nothing is impossible. When she wants something, she arms herself with audacity, willpower, her natural charm, her Simon, and together they climb the mountain with a common goal: to create their own path to the summit.

One always with her notebook, the other always with her mobile studio, a distinctive sound quickly emerges from their pop songs. With her album "Y", Sophie de Quay refers to the Y generation and all the questions they ask themselves, how to make sense of this changing world?
