Biography
Ten years ago, Thomas Kuratli moved from Zurich to Paris, laying the foundation for his musical alter ego, Pyrit. In 2015, he released his debut solo album, "UFO," on Bookmaker Records (FR), which was later reissued by Robotic Empire (US) in 2017. His second work, "Control," followed in 2018 and garnered widespread attention, particularly for his single 'Another Story.'
Pyrit's performances stretched across Europe, including appearances in Tunisia and Turkey, and a notable role as the support act for 'The Soft Moon' during their European tour in 2022.
As a graduate of the Zurich Film Academy, Kuratli composed soundtracks for films such as 'Ashkal' by Youssef Chebbi, 'Blue My Mind' by Lisa Brühlmann, 'Preparations for a Miracle' by Tobias Nölle and 'Where We Belong' by Jacqueline Zünd. His work also extended to theater, installations, and exhibitions. Pyrit's tracks found their place in various series and films, including 'Visions' by Yann Gozlan and 'De Grâce' by Vincent Maël Cardona. He even made a cameo appearance in Season 2 of BBC's 'Killing Eve,' performing in a nightclub scene. His music has also left its mark on compilations, notabely on Trentemøller's 'Harbour Boat Trips Vol. 02.'
With each composition, Pyrit weaves a narrative that goes beyond the typical songwriting, inviting listeners into a world where the boundaries between music, film, and art blur. These stories promise an immersive, intense, and intimate journey.
Currently, Pyrit is working intensively on his upcoming release, 'Totentanz,' scheduled for early 2024.
