Biography

V.U.P. means of course "very Unimportant Person".
All of us have to take a seat in this lounge at one time or another, hopefully only while attending aunt Cecilia's birthday party.
Did you ever hear of Lemon Jefferson, Willie McTell or Boy Fuller?
They all had been sitting in the VUP Lounge and are now listed in the Blues Hall of Fame.
Like them, I'm a blind guitarist - not necessarily limited to Blues.
In the early 90's, I began to perform my Swiss-German songs as a one-man-act in the tradition of Mani Matter.
In 1994, two friends and I eventually launched the band-project "UNversCHämt" (Shameless), where my songs began to rock.
2003 the meanwhile six members disbanded and went their own ways.
Due to my loss of sight in 2005, I had to go back to the roots, playing the guitar in isolation and writing songs.
My lyrics are in English, German and Swiss-German.

The computer-aided music creation is nowadays easier than ever before.
However, the big brands that produce digital audio workstations are not hugely interested to make their products accessible.
That's the reason why I'm using Audacity, the free multi-track editor, where I'm also engaged as a contributor as well.
If I can't find a plug-in that does want I want, I'm going to write it myself, see for instance the shipped Audacity Effect "Vocal Reduction and Isolation".
